While most patients with Glaucoma can control their disease with eye drops, for some a laser treatment is required to permanently open fluid out flow passages, reducing eye pressure.
A very safe treatment, laser requires an in office appointment, eye drops for anesthesia and follow up eye pressure testing. Laser is used to treat both chronic and acute glaucoma. Procedures are performed in our Plymouth office. Post laser there are little to no restrictions. You will be instructed to continue your eye drops until your next check up with Dr. Kriegstein, Dr. Townshend, or Dr. Bierman.
