Dr. Kriegstein is a board certified ophthalmologist, who graduated Magna Cum Laude from Harvard University. He completed his medical degree at Stanford University Medical School and his residency at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary. In addition, Dr. Kriegstein completed a post-graduate year of fellowship study in retinal and laser surgery. Active staff member at the Jordan Hospital, Dr. Kriegstein is also currently an Affiliate Staff member, Cape Cod Hospital and Referral Staff member, South Shore Hospital. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology, a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
Dr. Lois M. Townshend is an honors graduate of the University of Western Ontario Medical School. Dr. Townshend was a resident in ophthalmology at the University of Toronto, and completed a fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus at Duke University. She is on the active staff at Jordan Hospital and affiliate staff at Cape Cod Hospital. Dr. Townshend is board certified in ophthalmology in Canada and the United States. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a member of The American Academy of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus.
Dr. Kenney graduated with a degree in Biology from Providence College and went on to complete her Doctor of Optometry degree at the New England College of Optometry in Boston. Dr. Kenney then completed a residency at the VA hospital in West Roxbury, specializing in primary care and medical optometry. Her interests now are primarily contact lens fittings and primary care optometry.

As coordinator, Erin will plan, direct, and advise our patients through the laser experience. She will attend to every detail and is easily reached for questions or concerns from all patients at Associated Eye Surgeons.

The staff members at Associated Eye Surgeons realize that our patients have concerns when it comes to their insurance coverage and managed care products. Many insurance companies have strict guidelines regarding the need for referrals, which must be in place prior to the date of your appointment. While it is the patient’s responsibility to communicate with his or her insurance provider and secure the necessary referrals, our billing department is always happy to help. They are well informed and can answer questions or provide assistance with numerous insurance carriers.
